2021年，前国家地理频道前摄影记者、撰稿作家、骑行家彼得•克罗斯比重回中国，意在复刻只身骑行，再次重走3000多公里路线穿越“龙之腹地”、而摄制组一路跟随彼得，忠实地记录了老彼得在新时代重游往昔骑行路线的骑行之旅，穿插大量94年的珍贵素材，从一个外国友人的视角和两次骑行体验的对比，向观众多角度呈现中国近30年的伟大变革，从一个侧面描摹了中国社会的发展轨迹。
In 2021, Peter Crosby, a former photojournalist, contributor, and cyclist at the National Geographic Channel, returned to China, intending to repeat the bike tour by himself. He traveled through the “hinterland of the dragon” in the 3000-plus-mile route previously taken, while the film crew followed him all the way to faithfully record him recreating his old cycling journey in new times. With precious materials from 1994 interspersed, this documentary compared the two cycling experiences from a foreigner’s perspective, presented the great transformation to the audience that has taken place in China over the past three decades from multiple perspectives, and depicted the development trajectory of Chinese society.
